Rob McConnell is one of Toyota’s hidden talents. The 35-year old Michigan-based senior design engineer works at Toyota Technical Center. Yes, he’s a senior engineer in his thirties. God only knows where this bright shining star will be in a decade, as it relates to his career path at Toyota.

Now, while most of us are familiar with car designers, most of us probably aren’t aware of the role of a design engineer. Check out our one-on-one video with McConnell to see how he used his innovation and creativity to play a key role in the all-new 2013 Toyota Avalon. This video should inspire a number of educators and children on why it is so important to pursue both math and science.
